Intertidal Explorations at McClures Beach and Elephant Rock with Rick Johnson Saturday May 10th 8:30-Noon at McClure’s Beach with Rick Johnson. $40 Join Rick Johnson and Fred Smith, EAC's Exective Directorus for an intertidal exploration near McClures Beach in Point Reyes National Seashore. This is an area of high energy, open coast where the granite of Inverness Ridge meets the sea. This quite a bit different from Bolinas Point and Duxbury Reef where we have had tide pool trips in recent years. We will meet at 8:30 AM May 10 in the McClures Beach parking lot on Tomales Point. We will hike down a moderately steep trail to the beach and beautiful cove, a total of about 3/4mile one way. We will finish by noon and participants can hike out then or picnic on the beach. Rick Johnson is a former tidepool docent at Fitzegerald Marine Reserve in San Mateo County. He was also a Regional Stakeholder Group member for the Marine Life Protection Act in northern CA. He has led previous EAC tide pool trips to Duxbury Reef and Bolinas Point.
