![]() But EAC does more than fight: we have carried out many constructive projects that bring members of our community together to protect West Marin, and we also offer opportunities for our members to discover and learn more about the places we care for.
If you love West Marin’s spectacular natural spaces, join the Environmental Action Committee of West Marin now! With your help, we will protect West Marin and preserve it for future generations. Please visit the Save Point Reyes Wilderness website to help protect The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in cooperation with the National Park Service (NPS), is developing Air tour Management Plans (ATMP) for Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) and Point Reyes National Seashore (Seashore). The ATMP will only apply to the airspace below 5,000 above ground level over the area encompassed by the park and to the half-mile buffer zone surrounding the park’s boundary. The ATMP will apply to all commercial air tour operations in this airspace. Your comment letters are essential to stop these commercial uses from destroying our natural and cultural resources, disturbing wildlife, and invading the visitor and wilderness experience at our national parks. Take action!
EAC calls on Dr. Corey Goodman to stop his relentless, unilateral attacks of National Park Service scientists and their
peer-reviewed science. EAC believes that truth and integrity must comprise the essential foundation for scientific inquiry and those policy decisions that depend on it. Dr. Goodman's personal critique of the Park Service's peer-reviewed science is fundamentally flawed, and the attacks must stop. Read EAC's letter to the West Marin Citizen here.

REVISED COASTAL COMMISSION PERMIT WILL PROTECT TOMALES DUNES, ENSURE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE USE AT LAWSON’S LANDING
The California Coastal Commission yesterday heeded the requests of conservation groups and approved a revised permit for Lawson’s Landing campground that will ensure that significant portions of the rare coastal dunes-wetlands habitat at the site will be restored and forever protected. The Environmental Action Committee of West Marin has been advocating for over a decade for full protection of the rare Tomales Dunes wetlands complex and suggested changes to the proposed permit that were partially adopted by the Commission.
