West Marin Wild! Thirty-eight artists, listed below, are slated to participate in the show, a fresh mix of old favorites and newly discovered talent, working in a variety of media. They generously donate 50% of their sales to EAC, forming a perfect little ecosystem, since EAC’s mission is to preserve the wilderness that inspires their work. Co-sponsored by the Point Reyes National Seashore Association, West Marin Wild is held in the Red Barn near Park headquarters over Labor Day weekend. Cheryl Higgins, whose work has been exhibited in past West Marin Wild shows, says of the barn: “It’s hard to imagine a more perfect space for a leisurely viewing of creative interpretations of the hills, animal life and plants just outside its doors.” Seasoned visitors to West Marin Wild have learned that not only is it the ideal venue for purchasing special gifts, but if you bring a loved one along there are many available techniques for dropping hints about your own personal favorites. Of course there is only one way to make sure these favorites will not be sold out from under you, and that is to be the first to arrive at the Artists' Reception and Preview Sale on September 4, 5 – 8PM. The second challenge is not to be distracted from your mission by the beautiful spread that Pam Ferrari is masterminding, featuring organic foods produced by the local farming community and a wide selection of wines chosen by our connoisseurs. Space is limited for the truly special Artists' Reception and Preview Sale so don't wait to book your reservations at $60 per person. Members, however, can make them at the discounted price of $50. Their infectious enthusiasm and obvious appreciation of the quality of the exhibit create a relaxed atmosphere, drawing people back for a second or third visit over the course of the 3-day show.
