Who Picks Up the Trash? Where to Dispose of Hazardous Materials?

Marin County has several resources in place to ensure proper disposal of items entering our waste stream. It can be tough to know what goes where, so we compiled resources in one place, so you can find what you need if you reside in or are visiting coastal Marin. This page includes information on Zero Waste Marin, Recology (West Marin trash hauler), hazardous waste disposal, and where and how to dispose of medical and prescription drugs to help keep our environment clean and meet the County’s goals for Zero Waste.

This Also Matters For Your Pooch! Remember to carry out that bag of poop when walking/ hiking. Plastic poop bags on the ground double the pollution impact of poop and plastic in the environment.
