by asking your employer about their workplace giving options, and start doubling your impact today!

Many companies not only encourage their employees to give to and volunteer time with nonprofits in their communities, but may also match those efforts with dollars and other means of support.

Workplace Giving Programs are set up in a variety of ways:

  • Payroll Deduction (Monthly, Quarterly or Annual)

  • Employee Matching Gifts

  • Volunteer Support Programs

  • Annual Giving Campaigns (Combined Federal Campaign)

In fact, workplace giving contributes an estimated $5 billion to U.S. charities each year. Check with your employer today to determine how you can increase your impact for our mission to protect and sustain the unique lands, waters, and biodiversity of West Marin, the Bay Area's playground. Payroll Deductions

Many corporations and even some smaller companies will offer payroll deductions on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Often times these personal gifts can also be matched to double your impact.

Please notify us of any payroll deduction, frequency, and include your name and contact details. These details are crucial if we have to confirm your donation for an emloyer match as well.

Employer
Matching

Employer matches are charitable gifts a company makes to match its employees cash or volunteer hour contributions.

The majority of companies match donations at a 1:1 ratio, although ratios can be set at anything from .5:1 ($.50 match on every dollar donated) to 4:1 ($4 match on every dollar donated).

Companies apply minimums and maximums to their matching gift programs.  The most common minimum amount that companies will match is $25, though minimum matches range from $1 – $100. Maximums typically go from $1,000-$15,000.

Volunteer Support

Volunteer Support Programs  - sometimes called Dollars for Doers – are a special way to give back, and include:

  • Individual
    Volunteer Grants
Where the company matches an employee's time volunteering with a cash gift equal to their pay rate or some predetermined amount, typically capped by time or contribution amount.

  • Employee Groups:
Where company employees band together to volunteer for special projects or events to maximize our efforts. Often times a corporate donation to the nonprofit accompanies these team building efforts.

Grants & Sponsors

Does your company have annual giving grants? Do they sponsor special events? Be an ambassador for EAC by connecting us with the right people to increase the impact of our mission.

Specifically we look for environmental policy and education grants surrounding coastal issues, climate change, habitat, wildlife and restoration projects. We have sponsorship opportunities for our annual Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival, and many of our smaller events.
